The following foundations and institutions are allies in The Intersect Fund’s mission to empower urban entrepreneurs.

The Profeta Urban Investment Foundation

The Profeta Urban Investment Foundation is a vehicle for small businesses to access the capital they need to grow and expand their operations. Designed to link small- and medium-sized businesses with new financial resources, the Foundation contributed the funding for the Intersect Fund micro-loan pool.

The Sales Executives Club of Northern New Jersey Foundation

The Sales Executives Club of Northern New Jersey Foundation helps develop New Jersey business schools by providing scholarships and grants. Scholarship recipients include many Rutgers students pursuing a Masters in Business Administration. The Foundation’s most recent activity is sponsoring a business plan competition hosted by the Rutgers Business, Engineering, Science and Technology Institute. The Intersect Fund won this competition in May 2009.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development

The Catholic Campaign for Human Development was founded in 1969 by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops. They sought to create economic strength among poor populations, emphasizing empowerment and participation. CCHD has provided more than 7,800 grants to various grassroots groups since its inception.  The Intersect Fund has received support from the CCHD’s national office and its Diocese of Metuchen branch.

Citi

The Intersect Fund received support in February 2010 from Citi’s New Jersey Community Relations Department.

Johnson & Johnson

Johnson & Johnson was founded over a century ago and maintains is corporate headquarters in New Brunswick, N.J. The company operates in 57 countries and employes 119,000 people. Johnson & Johnson supports numerous non-profits within and beyond the healthcare sector.

Magyar Bank Charitable Foundation

Since its 1922 founding, Magyar Bank has improved the quality of life for families and businesses in the communities it serves. And through the MagyarBank Charitable Foundation, the Bank has strengthened its commitment to building a long-term partnership with the community. The Foundation actively seeks community development opportunities in four primary areas, while also recognizing the need to change with the needs and social conditions of the Community over time.

The Provident Bank Foundation

The Provident Bank Foundation is a private charitable foundation established by The Provident Bank. It is committed to paving the way for a brighter tomorrow in New Jersey communities through its support of education, health and wellness, recreation, the arts, and social and civic services.

Rutgers University

The Intersect Fund has received support from Rutgers’ Office of Student Engagement, the Office of the College Avenue Campus Dean, and the University’s School of Management and Labor Relations.

The Henry E. Niles Foundation

The Henry E. Niles Foundation seeks to nurture and uplift those in need. It supports humanitarian endeavors that strengthen educational resources, fight economic hardships through self-help opportunities, and enhance public health and sanitation.
